Originally from Oklahoma, Smith pastored churches in Virginia and Texas while completing the B.S. James Bixler grew up on the property of Emmanuel Baptist Church as his father and grandfather were pastors throughout his whole life. Pastor Tim was blessed to serve as Secretary of the Southern Baptist Conservatives of Virginia from 2017-2019.
